Ms. Lauryn Hill has announced that she is postponing her remaining 2023 Tour Dates into 2024 due to “serious vocal strain.”
“As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time,” Hill wrote on social media. “In order to prevent any long term negative affect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely.”
Hill added that the shows that were cancelled this year will be rescheduled for early 2024, and because of the overwhelming response, she will be adding new cities to the tour, including overseas.
“We’re working on the new calendar now, and announcing soon,” she added.
This is not the first time that Hill has been forced to change the dates of the North American leg of her The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour, celebrating the silver jubilee anniversary of her Grammy-winning album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
She postponed two shows that were scheduled to be held last month, citing vocal chord issues.
The rescheduled November 25 concert in Philadelphia will go on as planned as it has already been moved once.
“Being so close to New Jersey, it’s basically hometown for us – so we’ll close out the year with one final show amongst friends and family,” Hill said.
