Ride the Waves & Support Local Surfing — ESA Contest at Surf City Pier!

Hey Wave Riders!

We’re more than just the station for the beach, we’re proud to support local nonprofits that keep our coast and waterways thriving.

Get ready, surfers! On Saturday, October 25th, the waves are real at Oceanana Pier in Atlantic Beach for the Eastern Surfing Association’s sixth Central North Carolina District Contest of the 2025 Series! This event is set to be an epic day filled with waves, competition, and community spirit.

The Eastern Surfing Association (ESA) is the largest amateur surfing organization in the world, dedicated to promoting family, fitness, and a lifelong love for the ocean. Their family-oriented programs inspire healthy, active lifestyles, with generations of surfers competing side by side.

Today, the ESA organizes events across 22 districts, covering nearly 2,000 miles of coastline from Maine down to Florida, Alabama, and even the Great Lakes. All powered by passionate volunteers who keep the surfing spirit alive!

Catch the action, feel the waves, and be part of the community at Oceanana Pier in Atlantic Beach, Saturday, October 25th!
