Hey Wave Riders!
We’re more than just the station for the beach, we’re proud to support local nonprofits that keep our coast and waterways thriving. The North Carolina Aquarium Society has a few opportunities to learn more and help support their efforts.
Teachers, the North Carolina Aquariums are making a splash with Teacher Mini-Grants through the Aquarium Scholars program! These grants, funded by generous donors, give underserved students across North Carolina access to hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math experiences.
From unforgettable field trips to live animal encounters at your school, to interactive distance learning online—students can dive into the wonders of marine life like never before.
Grants are available only for Title I eligible schools, and the application deadline is Friday, September 5, 2025.

The North Carolina Aquarium Society is making waves with the Campaign for the North Carolina Aquariums! A major highlight—the renovation of the Tidal Waters Gallery at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, featuring two brand-new touch habitats where you can feel rays, sea stars, and even horseshoe crabs.
And here’s the exciting part: thanks to the Ven & Lisa Poole Family, every dollar you give between now and December 31 will be matched, up to $500,000! That means your gift goes twice as far in helping create an accessible, interactive experience for over 400,000 visitors each year.
Join us in protecting marine life, inspiring students, and growing our coastal community. Donate today to the Ven & Lisa Poole Family Challenge for the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores!
