Sound Rivers Swim Guide

Sound Rivers Swim Guide

Planning to hit the water this summer?

Sound Rivers’ Swim Guide has your back!

Every week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Sound Rivers tests more than 50 local swim spots across the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico Rivers for harmful bacteria. Sites are tested for E. coli in freshwater and enterococci in salt water — a pass means it’s safe to swim, while a fail means bacteria levels are too high. Click HERE to see this weeks results! Many sites are safe to swim in, but there are failures at popular spots where bacteria levels were too high for safe swimming.

So before you jump in, check the water quality — fast, free, and updated weekly.

Go to Sound Rivers for this week’s results and to learn more about how you can help keep the waters clean! Keep the waters clean by adopting a Trash Trap, attending Water Watch trainings, and donating!
